The authors present equations for the calculation of air instability energy deficiency in deep open pits in case of temperature inversions. The description is given of a new energy-saving method of prevention and destruction of temperature inversions in an open pit. Specifications of a pipeline ventilation system, with which this method is implemented, are also included. To reduce gas pollution of deep open pits it is proposed to use a ventilation system including a high-performance exhaust blower and a high-pressure forcing fan connected to a dual-duct
