The article presents in brief a story of the establishment and operation of a Russian machinery manufacturer TONAR plant set up in 1990 in Moscow Oblast. The description is given of the prototype of a new vehicle based on the proprietary design of an 80-t articulated trailer for long-distance coal transportation in Mongolia. The author describes specifications and design features of a hauler and a semi-trailer. The promising areas are also discussed of the development of carrier vehicle manufacture at the TONAR plant with the use of components imported from the world's leading manufacturers, as well as parts and units of the proprietary design.
