The article contains a brief analysis of the state-of-the art of planning and design of high-efficiency working of coal mine blocks. The authors present a brief review of methods and tools for situation modeling and control, and show an opportunity of the application of situation modeling and control for planning and design of coal block working flow sheets to promptly track the variations occurring in the process of coal block reserves winning and to timely amend a flow sheet.
