The article presents the results of the research into the application of amorphous silica resulting from acid treatment of nepheline as an oil-retaining agent for the mixture of granulated ammonium nitrate and liquid petroleum product. The authors prove that 1 wt% content of amorphous silica guarantees the prevention of liquid fuel dripple. Based on the research results Granulit AK dry explosive was tested and approved by the State Mining and Industrial Safety Inspectorate (Gosgortekhnadzor ) of Russia for application.
