Thomas Knothe The model range of mining machinery has been expanded due to Vermeer T1255 TLDD model with a cutter drum hydrostatic drive. The background and the current application scale are described of the new surface mining machine at gypsum and shale open pits of the world. The author presents a case study of the machine trials at one of German open pits. Some performance and economic indices of mineral deposit development by Vermeer machines are given.
