The article contains the results of studying the available ventilation methods for development headings and their efficiency in terms of air-dust mixture explosion hazard. The authors describe the source and mechanism of fine explosive coal dust formation and propose the basis for their assessment. Besides, data is available on development heading ventilation efficiency measurements based on scale physical models.
