The article contains the analysis of the coal output in the Far Eastern Federal District in 2000–2012. The author also analyzes the statistics of coal supply from the Far East to the domestic market and coal exports in 2011 and 2012. An overview is given of the largest coal-energy projects to be implemented in the Far East of Russia in territorial-production complexes of regional and interregional importance within the framework of the Long-Term Program of the Russian Coal Sector Development for the Period up to 2030. The estimates are provided of the coal production opportunities in Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, Primorsky Krai and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and in the Far Eastern Federal District overall for the period up to 2030.
