Vibration effect of coal mechanical breaking by shearer as a factor intensifying methane emission

M. V. Pavlenko, M.P. Khaidina

The article describes the application of vibration effect in mining for minimization of coal seam liability to sudden outbursts of coal and gas. The physics of this effect is based on the fact that under certain parameters of vibrator operation in a coal seam the seam fractures are opened enhancing coal seam permeability thus providing for its further gas drainage. The research method includes investigation of conditions for vibrator operation effect in the process of coal breaking.
