Prevent corrosion damage caused by the presence of low chlorine in crude oils

Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXR) offers simple, rapid, routine quality control analysis for sulfur in a range of petroleum products. Oxford Instruments' X-Supreme8000 EDXRF instrument now offers the ability to determine the presence of low chlorine in crude oil offering the same benefits as its sulfur analysis: no sample measurements, non-destructive analysis and results in five seconds.

Application optimised calibrations simultaneously measuring sulphur and chlorine from low mg/kg to high % levels allow users to demonstrate conformance of product specifications and subsequent optimisation of the refining process. Don't let chlorine become corrosive to profits. Contact us at: industrial@oxinst.com today to receive all the information surrounding this brand new calibration and data results.

Supplementary to the measurement of chlorine, low concentrations of sulphur (mg/kg) are covered by the test method - "Determination of low concentration of sulphur in automotive fuels - Energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometric method". The X-Supreme8000 conforms to this method allowing the routine measurement of sulphur at the 10mg/kg level which can easily be performed by production staff.
