The article describes engineering diagnostics methods and non-destructive test aids: vibrodiagnostic, infra-red and visual-instrumental methods, as well as ultrasonic flaw detection. The description is presented of the design and operating principle of an infra-red imager that is a device for monitoring and recording of the temperature pattern variation of a test item or its surface in the infra-red band of electromagnetic spectrum, and generation of color images of thermal patterns.
The authors prove that the infra-red method of diagnostics is readily available, it is characterized by high rate of data pickup, high accuracy and low cost of diagnostic procedures.
