A new procedure is described of the design of a ventilation pattern for development workings with high methane content. The resultant consistent patterns are grounded by the results of experimental research and by the energy hypothesis on the propagation of fresh air in the face area. The methods are helpful for the calculation of air consumption depending on a ventilation pipe diameter and a distance to a face.
