The article describes main hydrogeological conditions and physical geography of V. Grib diamond deposit. The authors discuss planning and design approaches to the establishment of a monitoring network in the process of the deposit development, as it is important for monitoring investigations at more than 120 observation points located within a 1 to 7 km radius from the open-pit center. Based on the best practice of similar system operation it is proposed to use a metrological hardware system and a software suite for monitoring investigation of natural waters.
