Improving the quality of coalfield 3D modeling based on spline theory

The article deals with a currently important problem of quality improvement of 3D modeling of coalfields developed by underground methods. It shows that in three-dimensional modeling with all up-to-date software packages, for interpolation technique use is usually made of inverse distance method, which is insufficiently effective, because it allows estimation of the variation of parameters but in broad terms. The authors conclude that application of the spline method for the estimation of limits of the variation of mineral quality characteristics in a block model of a coalfield would improve the quality and speed up the process of computer modeling of a coalfield.
