Abstract: The developed countries are currently witnessing the introduction of an innovative technological wave, commonly referred to as the "Industry-4.0". This initiative covers a variety of industries, including the mining sector. One of the outstanding trends affecting the progress of this industry is related to digital modeling, including the development of digital twins. This study focuses on the key aspects of introducing digital developments in the mining sector in the context of the transition to the Industry 4.0 concept. The author examines the impact of such a transformation on the technical and financial aspects of this industry. In addition, the use of digital tools such as cloud storage and remote assessment of equipment should contribute to the emergence of innovative approaches to business organization and enhancing the potential of enterprises, as well as the formation of advanced technological initiatives. In the view of these changes, it is possible to formulate a conclusion about the critical need to integrate digital products in simulation development of mining facilities and technologies with the formation of a national platform for digital complexes specialized in mining and geological fields.
