Abstract: Currently, as the pace of digital transformation in the mining industry is accelerating, the use of digital platforms and technologies of big data analysis is becoming a key factor in increasing the sustainability and economic efficiency of the companies. To determine the conditions for introduction of digital platforms and big data analytics in mining companies, it is necessary to identify the most promising areas of digitalization and assess their impact on the sustainable economic development of the companies. The study suggests key factors and criteria that are grouped into the following areas: technological, economic, organizational, resource and environmental, and social and managerial. A high-level methodological model has been developed for selecting digital platforms and big data analysis tools that are best suited for the mining industry. Particular attention is paid to assessing the economic impact of implementing the data–based technologies by optimizing the production processes, improving forecasting accuracy, reducing logistical losses, and enhancing the energy efficiency of operations. The results obtained can serve as a tool for developing corporate digital strategies, assessing the investment attractiveness of digital projects, and improving management efficiency in the mining industry.
