Abstract: Development of the Tastyg lithium deposit in the Republic of Tyva is of particular importance, as it can radically transform the region's economic activities, ensuring a stable inflow of investments and improving the quality of life for its residents. This study aims to explore the social and economic effects in the development of the Tastyg lithium deposit in the Republic of Tyva. The objective is to identify the direct impact of this project on the regional economy and to assess its strategic prospects for the future development. An analysis of the industrial production dynamics in the Republic of Tyva reveals that the region is among the lowest performers among the Russian regions. The results of the study allowed us to draw a conclusion on the significant strategic importance of the Tastyg lithium deposit for intensifying social and economic processes in Tyva, as well as for strengthening the resource base and ensuring a stable level of Russia’s mineral resources. With the development and exploitation of mineral resources, the republic has the potential to become one of the country’s most dynamically growing regions.
