Abstract: The efficiency of transporting rock mass by mining dump trucks directly affects the cost of mining. One of the most important indicators of the operational efficiency is the specific fuel consumption, which reflects the energy consumed per unit of the work performed. Although a lot of works study this issue, most of them fail take into account the whole variety of mining, geological and technical factors. The study is aimed at improving the reliability of fuel consumption rationing for heavy-duty mining dump trucks. A comparative assessment of the energy efficiency of the mining dump trucks at the Mairykhsky strip mine is presented for the following fuel consumption indicators: the actual consumption, the standard consumption at the company and the estimated consumption based on reducing the haulage distance to horizontal equivalent. It is shown how the results of comparing energy efficiency of the dump trucks using the value of the standard and estimated fuel consumption can be used in organizing and planning the company's operation. This primarily refers to analyzing the estimated consumption, since this indicator takes into account the mining conditions of the dump truck operation and its technical parameters. A more accurate and reliable method for assessing fuel consumption of mining machines has been proposed, which makes it possible to account for the road surface condition and promptly manage road maintenance works.
