Attention is mainly paid to positioning systems, the construction of which is carried out in coal mines, subject to certain conditions shown in a number of previous works. It is shown that many functions of such industrial safety control systems are realized when they work in real time with high-precision positioning of personnel. This becomes particularly important because if personnel equipped with individual advanced positioning means remain motionless (injured due to an accident or other reasons), they can send an emergency signal to the central control room requesting for help. It is concluded that in the presence of precision coordinates of the location of people in mine workings, the introduction of underground navigation technology for personnel is possible. The components of successful application of precision positioning systems in mines are formulated.
