Abstract: Studies of the nature of geodynamic risks in mining of mineral deposits will radically change the strategy for the development of the mining industry and its industrial safety. Man-caused geodynamic and seismic activities become most developed in seismically active regions, where natural and mancaused dynamic processes that influence each other acquire the character of a natural-and-man-caused seismic process that poses a danger to mining operations, civil and industrial facilities on the surface, and the quality of life of the population in the mining provinces. Numerous observations show a significant development of natural and man-caused seismicity in the «old» mining regions, with a huge volume of extracted rock masses, which are characterized by natural seismic activity. The plans of large-scale mining of new deposits in the earthquake-prone regions of Russia, e.g. Tyva, Transbaikalia, the Far East, Eastern Yakutia, Sakhalin, etc., give special relevance to the detailed study of this problem.
