Analysis of prerequisites to create transportation systems of a smart mining enterprise

Abstract: The paper addresses a set of opportunities for the transformation of mining enterprises into a highly efficient production of useful components contained in minerals that are in demand by the society. The research is mostly related to mining ores and chemical feedstock, and to a lesser extent it can be recommended for extraction of low-component raw materials and natural resources with a high content of the useful component, which are characteristic of the construction industry, hydrocarbon production and coal mining. Practical experience of innovative technologies reflected in current scientific and technical publications has been studied and analyzed in order to assess the possibility of developing a smart mining enterprise in terms of the logistics and digital transformation paradigms, and the potential of interaction of artificial intelligence, big data, advanced analytics with the mining processes has been investigated. A systematic review of the current research publications and application examples in improving the efficiency of interaction between processes of a mining enterprise was chosen as the main research method. A particular attention was paid to works on organization of the mining processes and systems of material and information flow management as well as application of efficient transportation systems. The study specifies the directions for development of the existing mining enterprises and makes it possible to define the tasks for practical implementation of mining business projects.
