Abstract: The article analyzes the state and prospects for development of the transport infrastructure in the Republic of Tuva. The leading role in the transport complex of the republic is played by the motor transport. The current state of the transport infrastructure in the region was studied using the statistical data and reports of sectoral ministries, its evolution was analyzed, and the prospects for development of the transport infrastructure were outlined. The analysis showed that the performance standards of the motorways in the republic is low, which causes increasing transportation costs and consumption of fuel and lubricants. The development of the road network in the Republic of Tuva does not correspond to the pace of motorization in the republic. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the condition of the motor roads in the region, most of which do not meet the required standards. Creation of an international transport corridor through the Republic of Tuva to China and Mongolia will reduce the load on the Abakan–Kyzyl road.
