Summary: Interaction of autonomous equipment in underground ore mining is based on information exchange technologies with a number of specific features and components to ensure the efficiency, safety and sustainability of their operation. The following areas of digital transformation stand out in the medium-term prospective: (1) remote control of mobile equipment that allows technological operations to be performed from safe zones, which is especially important when mining in hazardous areas and areas with increased water content; (2) wireless communication systems in underground conditions in order to implement the project of automated control systems for mobile drilling units; (3) artificial intelligence (digital assistants) for optimizing technological processes, predicting emergency situations, reduction of equipment downtime; (4) creation of “digital twins” of underground mines. In the long term, there are plans to implement the Smart Mine concept, which envisages maximum automation of the production processes with minimal presence of production personnel in the hazardous areas. This article describes operational characteristics of the cyber-physical systems. It presents a diagram of a system for smart connectivity and integration of information and communication technologies into mining machinery as part of robotization of mining systems, which consists of a three-tier top-to-bottom interaction architecture.

Keywords: digital transformation, cyberphysical systems, ontological modeling, information exchange
